| Mr.
Ogunruku, who turned fifty-three (53) years old
on 21st October, 2007 succeeded Mrs. Opeyemi
Olamijulo who in November, 2006 occupied the
position of the University
Registrar in an acting
capacity and later retired on 31st May,
2007.
A 1978 graduate of
English Language from
Obafemi Awolowo University,
Ile-Ife (then University of
Ife or UNIFE), Mr. Ogunruku
joined the services of
Federal University of
Technology, Akure in 1982 as
an Administrative Officer I
before being promoted in
1984 as an Assistant
Registrar. In 1986, Mr.
Ogunruku became an Officer
in Charge of Academic and
Junior Staff Matters, before
he was moved to Council
Affairs as the Head of
Division in 1988.
Between 1987 and 1994, he
was a Senior Assistant
Registrar II and I
respectively after which he
became a Principal Assistant
Registrar and served in this
capacity till January, 1997.
Mr. Ogunruku, by 1998, has
risen to the position of a
Deputy Registrar.
Born on 21st October,
1954 at Ido-Ekiti, Ekiti
State, Mr. Ogunruku attended
Omodewa L.A. Primary School,
Ido-Ekiti, between 1960 and
1965 before proceeding to
Ekiti Parapo College, Ido
Ekiti, for his Secondary
School and Higher School
Certificates. He was
admitted into University of
Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo
University) in 1973 and
graduated with a Bachelor of
Arts degree in English
Language in 1978. Between
1988 and 1990, Mr. Ogunruku
was in Obafemi Awolowo
University, Ile-Ife studying
Public Administration at
Masters degree level.
A Fellow of the Chartered
Institute of Public
Administrators of Nigeria,
Mr.Ogunruku is also a
Member, Association of
University Administrators,
United Kingdom, Member, ACU
Human Resource Management
Network, Associate Member,
Nigerian Institute of
Personnel Management and
Associate Member, Nigerian
Institute of Management.
Until his appointment,
Mr.Ogunruku was the Head,
Division of Academic Affairs
at the Federal University of
Technology, Akure (FUTA).
