As a class one student, one day a senior boy asked me to call one of his classmates for him in a dormitory, after giving me his name as Joseph (not his real name). I went to his room and asked one student,"Where is Joseph?" Then Joseph's roommate asked, "Is he your mate that you are mentioning his name like that? Kneel down there & raise up your hands". I tried to explain to him in vain: I had to obey & receive the punishment. As I failed to show up to my senior, he had to send someone else to call his classmate. This time around, the new errand boy was in class two who knew how to call senior ones with a title "Senior Joseph". I was released 30 minutes later. On my return to my senior, without asking me any question, just slapped me and asked me to kneel down again, saying, "Obey before complain". I served the punishment for about 20 minutes before asking me why I did not deliver his message. In my mind I thought, "Why are these small boys punishing me - an older & bigger boy than them"? Hmmmmmn! SENIORITY INDEED! |
